About Worth Valley YFC

Now the first thing to point out is to explain the YFC bit, this stands for Young Farmers Club, but don't let this put you off as you certainly don't have to be or want to be a farmer to join us. When the Club was founded 65 years ago most of the members were from farming backgrounds but today the majority of our members aren't and attend simply because they enjoy the good laugh we have, the wide range of meetings and the competitions we take part in. As you can see from the pictures we have a good spread of members, lads and lasses aged from 10 through to 27 .

Unlike many other organisations for young people, YFC is run by the members for the members with everyone from 10 to 27 having an equal say in who are the club officers, what social and competitive events we attend and what meetings we have.

At a time when young people get very bad press for what they get up to, Worth Valley is proud to be a very positive influence on our members and just by joining in with our activites, our members, without realising, become confident, good public speakers and well organised. These skills combined with the experiences our members have in YFC make them stand out from others when applying for a University place or going for a job. So come on and aim to join us this year!
